At this time, we focus solely on VORT preparation for South Australian learners. We do not currently offer CBT&A (logbook) training.
-
VORT
VORT is often the more cost‑effective pathway, as many learners reach competency with fewer lessons. You will be taught all the skills required to drive safely and confidently - the same competencies covered in CBT&A.
The VORT assessment is a final drive on a government‑approved route where you must demonstrate safe, competent driving and complete five slow‑speed manoeuvres:
Moving off from the kerb
U‑turn
Three‑point turn
90‑degree angle park
Reverse parallel park
Please note:
You cannot be tested by an instructor you’ve had lessons with - we organise an independent examiner for all students.
Any breach of road law during the test results in an automatic fail, and reassessment can only occur after 14 days.
CBT&A
CBT&A requires learners to complete 30 individual competencies plus a final drive. Because of the number of competencies, this pathway typically involves more lessons. We do not currently offer CBT&A.
-
Every learner is different. After your first lesson, we will assess your current skills and provide an estimate of how many lessons you may need before booking your VORT.
-
We offer flexible pick‑up and drop‑off locations – they don’t need to be the same place. We can meet you at home, school, work, or another agreed location and drop of at a location advised prior to the lesson.

Yes. Next Gen Driver Training is fully covered by comprehensive insurance approved for driving instruction. We also hold Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance.

Professional lessons are strongly recommended. Training with a qualified instructor ensures you learn the correct techniques and build the confidence needed to pass.
The VORT requires a minimum score of 90%, and without proper instruction, learners often miss key skills or procedures - leading to costly retests.

Please bring your learner’s permit (hard copy or mySAGOV app) and your driving companion to record hours. We also recommend wearing comfortable, secure footwear (avoid thongs or slip‑ons) and clothing suitable for driving.
